ITEM: Wrist straps, black, standard length
CONDITION: Barely used. Structurally intact but emotionally compromised.
PRICE: $12 OBO
SHIPS FROM: My garage

I'm going to be honest with you all. I bought these straps three months ago thinking they would help me push through the next level. I was pulling 315 on deadlift and I needed that extra grip security. The straps were supposed to be my partner in this.

They were not ready.

I put them on, I gripped the bar, and I pulled. And the pump that came through was something these straps had never experienced. You could feel it. The velcro started trembling. The stitching was sweating. By the third set these straps were begging for mercy. They did not say this out loud but I could feel it in the tension. They were not built for what I was doing.

I don't blame them. Not every piece of equipment is ready for that kind of pump. Some gear is meant for moderate sessions. These straps are moderate-session straps. There is no shame in that. But they need to be with someone who operates at their level.

I want these straps to go to a good home. Someone who will use them gently. Someone who pulls 185, maybe 225 on a good day. Someone who will respect their limits. They deserve that.

$12 or best offer. Serious inquiries only.

Interested. But I need to know the full pump history before I commit.

How many sessions did these straps witness? What was the peak weight they were exposed to? Did they ever experience a true, full-body pump, or was it isolated? Were they ever dropped on the floor and left there overnight? This matters for the strap's psychological state.

I collect straps that have been through something. I have 47 pairs. Each one has a story. I keep them in a climate-controlled drawer organized by emotional damage. If these straps qualify, I'll pay full asking price.

Vince, I appreciate the thoroughness. Here is the full history:

Sessions: 11 total. They were present for 11 sessions over a 3-week period.
Peak exposure: 315 lbs deadlift. This is what broke them spiritually.
Pump type: Full posterior chain. They felt everything.
Floor incidents: Once. After the 315 pull. I set them down gently. I did not throw them. They slid off my wrists on their own, which I believe was voluntary.

They were never left overnight. I brought them inside after every session. They slept on the shelf next to my chalk bag. They were cared for.

I will say this: if you're putting them in a drawer, I need to know they won't just be a collection piece. These straps still have sessions left in them. They're not retired. They just need someone who matches their pace.

I'll take them for $10 if I can smell them first.

I know how that sounds. Let me explain. I am a firm believer that you can tell the quality of a pump by the smell of the equipment that witnessed it. Good pump = good smell. It's iron and effort and chalk and something else that science hasn't named yet. I call it "pump residue." You can't fake it.

If these straps were really there for 315 deadlifts, they'll have it. The pump residue. I'll know within one sniff whether these straps are the real deal or if they've been hanging out on a shelf watching someone do wrist curls.

Can you ship them in a sealed bag so the smell is preserved? This is important.

Derek, I am not going to pretend that request is normal. But I am also not going to pretend I don't understand it.

The straps do carry residue. They have not been washed. I was going to wash them before selling but something stopped me. It felt wrong. Like washing away their history. Like power-washing a cathedral.

I will ship them in a ziploc. But the price is $12. These straps earned that extra $2 through what they endured. I won't negotiate against their dignity.

Also I want to be clear to everyone in this thread: I am looking for a good home above all else. If Vince will use them, Vince gets priority. If Derek will use them AND smell them, that is also acceptable. What I cannot accept is these straps sitting in a box somewhere doing nothing. They have given too much for that.

Hi, I pull 195 and I've been looking for straps. $12 works for me. I'll use them 3 times a week. They will experience moderate pumps in a supportive environment. I will not push them beyond their comfort zone.

I feel like I should mention that I read this entire thread and I am now emotionally invested in the wellbeing of a pair of wrist straps, which is something I did not expect to happen today.

GarageGainer, I promise I will take care of them. They will know a gentle pump. They will be stored properly. I have a dedicated gear drawer that is clean, dry, and organized. They will be among friends.
