LOOKING FOR: Chalk bag, gym bag, used lifting belt, weight room floor mat, or honestly anything that smells like a gym
BUDGET: Reasonable. For the right smell, unreasonable.
THIS IS A SERIOUS INQUIRY
I started working from home eight months ago. I love the flexibility. I love the lack of commute. I do not love that my entire life now smells like laundry detergent and scented candles.
I miss the gym smell. I need you to understand how much I miss it. I'm not talking about the smell of a clean, modern gym with eucalyptus towels and ambient lighting. I'm talking about the smell of a real gym. Iron. Chalk. Rubber mats that have absorbed decades of effort. The faint undertone of someone who is working harder than they've ever worked in their life. That specific cocktail of sweat, metal, and determination that you can only find in a place where people go to push themselves beyond reason.
I have tried gym-scented candles. They do not work. They smell like someone described a gym to a candle maker who has never been inside one. "Ooh, leather and sandalwood." No. Wrong. A gym smells like struggle and rust and chalk dust and I want that in my home office.
Please. If you have anything โ anything at all โ that carries the genuine scent of a gym, I will buy it. I will pay a premium. I just want to close my eyes at my desk and feel like I'm somewhere that matters.
