FOUND: One (1) lifting glove. Right hand. Size M.
LOCATION: On the floor near bench 4, Tuesday evening around 7:45 PM
CONDITION: Used. Has character. Has seen some things.

I found this glove after my session on Tuesday. It was on the floor, alone, near bench 4. No one was around. I picked it up, looked around, and waited for someone to come back for it. No one came. I put it in my bag so it wouldn't get thrown away by the cleaning crew.

If this is your glove, I would like to return it. But I need you to prove it's yours. I have a verification system. You must describe one unique detail about this glove that only the owner would know. There is something distinctive about it. If you are the owner, you know what it is.

I am not going to describe the detail publicly because then anyone could claim it. This is between me and the rightful owner. Post your answer and I will confirm or deny.

This glove deserves to go home.

That's my glove. 100%. I was at bench 4 on Tuesday. The unique detail is: it's black.

โ€” Chad | it's definitely my glove

Incorrect. "It's black" is not a unique detail. It is the most common color for a lifting glove. That's like saying the unique detail about your car is that "it has wheels." You do not own this glove, Chad. I am sure of it now.

Okay this might be mine? I was at the gym Tuesday but I'm not sure if I was at bench 4. I might have been at bench 3. Or bench 5. The benches are close together and I don't pay attention to bench numbers, which I am now realizing is a personal failing.

Unique detail: does it have a small tear near the thumb? I feel like my glove had that. Or maybe that was my other glove. I own several gloves and I'm not great at keeping track of which is which. This is also a personal failing.

I'm going to be honest, Greg, it's probably not my glove. But if no one else claims it, I am willing to adopt it. Give it a second chance. No glove should be alone.

Incorrect. There is no tear near the thumb. I appreciate your honesty about probably not being the owner. That is rare on the internet and I respect it.

Two claimants. Zero correct answers. I am beginning to wonder something.

What if this glove doesn't belong to anyone? What if it was just... there? What if no one dropped it, no one forgot it, it simply appeared? Near bench 4. On a Tuesday. At 7:45 PM. The exact time I always finish my last set.

I am not a superstitious man. I believe in iron, effort, and proper form. But this glove was in my path for a reason. It was placed there. By what or whom, I cannot say. But the more time passes and no one claims it, the more I believe this glove was meant for me.

I'm going to give it one more day. If no legitimate owner comes forward, I will accept what the universe is telling me. The glove is a sign. The glove is mine.

Greg, I've been thinking about your glove situation and I want to offer a perspective.

In the ancient pump traditions โ€” and I have studied these extensively โ€” a found glove is one of the three Signs of Pump Transition. The other two are a barbell that feels lighter than it should and a mirror that shows you differently than you expect. When you encounter a found glove, it means the pump is asking you to move to the next level.

The glove found you, Greg. Not the other way around. You think you picked it up, but the glove chose to be picked up by you. It could have been found by anyone in that gym. The cleaning crew could have taken it. Another lifter could have grabbed it. But it waited. For you. At 7:45 PM. At your bench.

Wear the glove, Greg. Wear it and see what happens. I believe you will find that your right hand suddenly has a grip you have never experienced before. The glove is not lost property. It is a gift from the pump itself.
