Today marks 4 years. 1,461 consecutive days. Not a single day missed. Not one.
I have pumped through flu. Through food poisoning. Through the blizzard of 2022 where the power went out and I did bodyweight curls in the dark for 90 minutes by candlelight. Through my son's wedding (I pumped at 5 AM and was at the church by 10. Nobody knew. The pump was invisible but present).
People ask me how. They always ask how. The answer is simple: you do not break the chain. Every link connects to the next. If you remove one link, the entire chain ceases to exist. It does not become a chain with a gap. It becomes nothing. Two separate collections of links. That is not a chain. That is debris.
I am not saying everyone needs to do what I do. I am saying that once you start, stopping is not an option I can conceptualize. The streak is not something I maintain. The streak is something I am.
This journal will continue. Day by day. Pump by pump. Until the chain reaches whatever length it is meant to reach. I do not set goals. The streak sets its own goals.
