BREAKING PUMP NEWS:

At approximately 6:32 AM this morning at Gold's Gym, Venice Beach, a local man (username: UltimatePumper_Dave, IRL name withheld per his request) achieved what witnesses describe as "a pump so complete that the muscles refused to un-pump."

According to eyewitnesses, Dave had been pumping continuously for approximately 3 hours when, on his final set of cable curls, something happened. His eyes reportedly "went white" for about 4 seconds. When they returned to normal, his arms remained in a 140-degree curl position and could not be moved by an outside force.

Dave was reportedly calm and said, and I quote: "I'm okay. This is what I've been working towards."

Emergency services were called. They arrived, assessed the situation, and two of the paramedics immediately started doing curls themselves, unable to resist the ambient pump energy in the room.

Dave has been discharged from hospital. His arms remain in the curl position. He says this is fine. He is happy. He sends his regards to this community.

I have been on this forum since 1999. I have seen many things. I have read of pump achievements that made grown men weep.

I need everyone to understand what it means for a pump to become structurally permanent. This is not a cramp. This is not delayed-onset muscle soreness. Dave's muscles have DECIDED. They have decided on pump and they are not un-deciding.

I have consulted with 3 pump scientists (see: pump_science.html) and they confirm: Dave has achieved what is theoretically referred to as Peak Pump Crystallization — when the muscle achieves a pump state of such total completion that returning to "un-pump" becomes energetically unfavorable.

Hello. I am David's wife. I found this forum because his phone (which he cannot unlock because his hands are clenched) had this tab open.

I would like to say that this is not okay and we are very worried and he needs to come home.

However I will admit his arms look incredible. They're almost like two large hams. Hams with veins. I don't want to think about this anymore.

Does anyone know when this... stops? The doctors say they've "never seen anything like it" which is not helpful.

He keeps smiling. He seems genuinely happy. He keeps saying "I did it." I don't know what he did but he seems very pleased.

I googled "pump stuck in flex position" for medical reasons and this is the first result that came up.

I have been reading this thread for 45 minutes. I do not fully understand what is happening here but I feel like I have aged several years.

UPDATE:

I showed David the thread on the hospital tablet. He read MysticalGains' post.

He cried. He genuinely cried. He said "they understand." I don't understand but he seems better now.

The doctor came back and said the arm position seems to be "stable" and that David is "fine physiologically, just unusual." He said this was going to be a case study. David seemed pleased by this.

David has asked me to post one thing: "Tell them the pump was worth it. Tell them I can still feel it. It hasn't left. I don't think it will. I think this is just me now."

I have passed this message on as requested. I do not fully share his enthusiasm but I support him.

His arms do look incredible though. I won't lie.
